Amteck to Host Shock & Awe Day for Registered Electrical Apprenticeship Preparation

Young adults 18 or older with an interest in the electrical field have an opportunity to apply for this annual 4-week pre-apprenticeship program while being paid $15.00 per hour in Dyersburg, TN to learn the fundamentals of basic electricity and construction applications. Through partnership between Amteck, the American Job Center, and the Northwest TN Workforce Board, they can “reap” the rewards of classroom instruction and hands-on experience through a prevocational training program known as Registered Electrical Apprenticeship Preparation (REAP) beginning June 10th.

Throughout the REAP program, Amteck will evaluate participants based on their willingness to undergo drug testing, arriving on time, dressing appropriately, being respectful, being proactive, being positive, working hard, and working safely. Through agreements with the US Department of Labor, Amteck offers a 4-year Registered Apprenticeship including online instruction and on-the-job training while being paid. Apprentices may travel to different locations to work on construction sites across the country. After successful completion of the 4-year program, apprentices are prepared to take the exam to become a Journeyman/Licensed Electrician, with the opportunity to earn wages higher than the national average.
